Who are the Lollipop?
The Lollipop is a pop girl band produced by Tabloid Music italy; it is composed by 5 young girls, who were selected and chosen over 6,000 aspiring divas in a very tough and documented selection. The girls' goal was only one, to become artists and to cut a record.
On March 30th 2001, the Lollipop, with WEA Records label, released their first cd-single "Down, Down, Down" which earned right away anù extraordinary success; it gained first place in the Hit charts and theù Platinum Record. In a matter of a few months, the Lollipop have become a focal point for thousands of Italian teen-agers; every appearance and performance in local places, radio and TV, has earned them an extraordinary public approval as well. An extraordinary success for the Lollipop! The first record accomplishment "Down, Down, Down" was released on March 30th 2001, it sold well over 100,000 copies receiving the prestigious Double Platinum Record.

DOMINIQUE
Born in Bruxelles on August 7th 1979. She has an older sister, she isable to spend time with her family only on week-ends when she goes back to Aragona (AG), because during the week she studies at the Academy of Belle Arti in Palermo. Artistic Experience: she has self-taught singing. Hobby & Sport: she does not practice any sport and her free time is dedicated to painting. She listens to a lot of music also. What inspires her: she s fascinated by the American-Indian culture. Music: she listens to Native Americans' tribal music and to classicalù music. La Boheme, by Puccini, is her favorite opera. Cinema: "Jane Eire" by Zeffirelli, is her favourite movie. She adores actor John Malkovich in "Of mice and men" and Gerard Depardieu. TV: the only thing she watches on tv are documentaries. Reading: she reads poetry by Renbaud, Verlain, Baudelair and by the Navachos.
Dominique and Computers: "Vade retro!". She can't stand techonogy. Favourite Clothing: casual, preferably jackets and pants.What do you think of success? She is sure: "Once you reach it, it's very important to not let it go to your head".
Dominique is single by choice at the moment, she wants to think only to herself.
MARCELLINA
Born in Pesaro on May 19th 1982, she lives with her parents and two older sisters. Artistic Experience: she takes private singing and dancing lessons, modern dancing in particular. Hobby & Sport: she has been practicing horse-riding and volleyball but singing and dancing are her passion.What inspires her: nobody in particular. Music: she adores pop music and the romantic Laura Pausini. Cinema: all romantic movies with Meg Ryan, Julia Roberts or Richard Gere.
TV: she admits to liking TV, she watches most of all entertaining shows. Reading: she reads only newspaper. She confesses she does not like to read. Marcellina & Computers: she uses her PC for work and amusement, she
surfs the Internet in search of musical websites. Favourite Clothing: she has a predilection for sportswear, however she
does not know how to renounce to a touch of elegance as well. What do you think of success? She dreams to reach it and she is aware that il could upset her everyday way of life.
MARTA
Born in Bollate on October 7th 1976. She lives in Garbagnate (MI) with
her family, her older brother and her 13 years old twin sisters. Marta
holds a dipoma in Accounting, at the present she works at an Insurance
Agency with her father and her older brother.
Artistic Experience: she has taken private lessons for three and one
half years before entering a school where she put R&B to a test. She has
sung at various local places with fellows met at the singing school.
It's been about a year since she has been part of a group of 5 people.
Hobby & Sport: she attends a gym regularly and she loves to swim.
Dancing and singing are her only passion.
What inspires her: Madonna, because as a popastar, she is the greatest.
Music: she loves melodic Rock a' la Bon Jovi and Soul a' la Aretha
Franklin. Cinema: "Point Break" is her favourite movie; Keanu Reeves and Julia Roberts are the actors adored by her.
TV: she relaxes watching a variety of shows, she does not disdain movies
with tear-jerker stories.
Reading: she has a predilection for real life themed books, because, she
says, they make her reflect.
Marta & Computers: she is not very interested to the new technologies,
as a matter of fact, she uses the PC very litte, but she cannot help
herself sending SMS from her cell phone.
Favourite Clothing: as a loyal Madonna' fan, she adores to dress Texan
and Country style.
What do you think of success? She has only one thought:"You have to be
careful!".
ROBERTA
Born in Roma on May 25th 1981. Scottish mom and Roman dad, she speaks
perfect English. Roberta is attending her 5th year of Language Studies
at the Collegio Nazareno dei Padri Scolopi.
Artistic Experience: as a little girl, she took part in a series of
Mediaset and RAI shows as a chorister.
Hobby & Sport: Roberta is a former Iceskating Champion. She has won the
Campionato Italiano and the Coppa Europa; a huge commitment that brought
her, every summer for three months training, in California. Today she
likes to run and play tennis. Another passion is to travel and
discovering different mentalities.
What inspires her: anybody beautiful, elegant and intelligent.
Music: all kinds are nice, except one: Heavy Metal.
Cinema: "A good movie is always a good movie, regardless what type it
belongs to".
TV: she watches entertaining TV shows.
Reading: she reads only books recommended at school.
Roberta & Computers: "Oh God, I beg of you!" (this is her classical
exclamation that among the Popstars has already become a torment).
Practically it is a miracle if she knows how to turn a PC on.
Favourite Clothing: Roberta follows the fascion, she loves to be always
elegant and at times she likes to match colors that clash.
What do you think of success? "It's beautiful! I am already recognized
in Rome! I like fame and I am not at all frightened by it. Why? Nobody
will ever be able to take away from me something that I love and need if
I oppose to it."
VERONICA
Born in Caserta on Januar 26th 1981, she lives with her family and she
has a 26 years old sister, Rosalba and a 7 years old sister, Elisabetta.
Veronica has completed her 5 years Studies in Science and she attends
her second year of Law in Caserta.
Artistic Experience: she has done Theater and has sung with her group.
Hobby & Sport: she writes stories and poems, she adores the Theater and
the Musicals; she loves to travel, to cook and she keeps in shape with
swimming.
What inspires her: nobody in particular.
Music: she likes every kind of music, from jazz to classical music. Her
favourite singer is Alanis Morissette.
Cinema: she has liked two movies in particular, lately, "The Blair Witch
Project" I and II; in reality, she does not have a favourite kind.
TV: she likes "Wozzup" and she detests "Sarabanda"; however she does not
watch too much TV.
Reading: she adores Pirandello and Pablo Neruda's poems.
Veronica & Computers: PC, e-mail, Internet do not hold secrets for her.
Favourite Clothing: black is forbidden while other colors, even matched
in an extravagant way, are welcome.
What do you think about success? "I have tried to imagine it and I think
that I would like to live it. I am well-disposed towards living away
from my parents and friends, but I would never change my character, what
I am!"
