BIOGRAPHY

Band forms in Florence in March 1999, bringing together ex-members of the italian official Bon Jovi cover band, and a new drummer, Paolo Baroni. A few months later Max Carrai joins as singer, and with him the band begins live activity after the recordings of the first demo (featuring only covers).
They start to exhibit in Florence and its surroundings, mostly playing well-known power metal songs (covers of Helloween, Gamma Ray, Stratovarius, Labyrinth, but even songs of Malmsteen, Iron Maiden, and Manowar), while original songs, composed by the band, begin to show up.
In August 2000, after the friendly separation from Max, the band finds a new singer, Federico Puleri, and shortly after the line-up is finally completed with the insertion of Fabrizio Marnica (keyboards).
In the same month “Demo 2000” is recorded, and the band, with the new line-up, performs many lives again.
The four songs of “Demo 2000” are well reviewed by specialized press, fanzines and webzines, though almost all indicate the quality of the production as a limit. While the band continues live activity new songs are composed, and the first contacts with labels (Underground Symphony and Megahard Rec. above all) are taken.
In January 2001 the band signs with Megahard (for one album, with the option for the second), and starts working on the new songs while interrupting live activity. In October/November 2001 the debut cd “Unreality” is recorded, mixed and mastered at the well known Zenith Recordings, owned by Frank Andiver.
The album is out in April 2002 (and is currently distribuited by “Prw” for South America, Japan, Europe, and by “Self” for Italy).
In February 2002 the band records a cover for the Tribute album to Sword, produced by Rising Works and Underground Symphony.
In October 2003 SevenGates and Federico Puleri split. Cesare Capaccioni joins as the new singer, and he immediately proves his vocal capabilities and his fine attitude for live performing. In the first months of 2003 an italian “mini-tour” to promote the debut Cd is undertaken: seven dates in different cities, and a festival, “L’Urlo del Drago” at Trento, where SevenGates perform as one of the headliner band.

As from summer 2003 Sevengates prepared themselves for their second work: first of all, they started the drafting of new tracks, then, thanks to a legal quibble, they split up with their record label "Megahard"; the distance (from Italy to Brazil), indeed, had made their relationship very difficult.
On April 2004 the band held its only, but unforgettable, concert: Sevengates had the honour to play with Blaze Bailey (ex Iron Maiden) two tracks of the IRON MAIDEN historic repertory.
That was also the last time Paolo Baroni played with the band. The split was basically due to the incomprehension that had developed during the years, since the foundation of Sevengates.
At this point, a new chapter in the history of the group began: Lorenzo Innocenti (Hellwrath) joined the band as the new drummer and in a very short time he learned all the tracks of its repertory.
The pre-production of the new cd is expected to start on September 2004, at Frank Andiver's "Zenith" Studios, while the recording sessions will start in November 2004.
